Job Description​ This Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is a predominately ambulatory clinic and OR role located primarily at: SLH. The primary patient population is adult. There is a weekend and holiday commitment for this role. The employee will be responsible for the medical management of the Neurosurgery patient population within the scope of an Advanced Practice Provider. The term Advanced Practice Provider encompasses Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The employee will have successfully completed a Master’s degree (or higher level of educational program) and have met the requirements for the respective State Board(s) (Missouri and Kansas). The APP will hold and maintain a national certification and licensure as required by State Boards and Saint Luke’s Health System, as well as other certification as obligatory for this role. Neurosurgery disease processes the APP will be expected to accurately diagnose and treat include general neurosurgery with a focus subspecialized patient populations as indicated. Overview The Developmental and Behavioral Health team at Children’s Mercy helps children and teens with developmental, psychiatric, or psychological needs providing mental, emotional, and behavioral health services that lead to healthier children and stronger families. Keyboarding and computer skills are a must to dictate information from calls to the medical record. Registered nurses provide mental and developmental illness management and health promotion for patients and families who require care via phone.
