Responsibilities include obtain medical history, perform physical examinations, review and order diagnostic studies, radiographs and prescribe treatments. APPs perform bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures and are first assists with Bone Marrow Harvests and provide follow-up care of bone marrow donors under the supervision of attending physician. Qualifications Required: Must be a graduate of a Physician Assistant training program or appropriate Nurse Practitioner program and be able to practice in the state of Washington (licensed). Have National Certification as appropriate for profession. Must be licensed for schedule II drug authority. Strong oral and written communication skills required. Basic computer skills are essential. Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Must enjoy long-term relationships with patients undergoing intense therapy. Preferred: Oncology or BMT experience preferred. Provides instruction that matches learning needs and the nursing plan of care. Encourages patient compliance with therapeutic and medical regimens. Under the direction of the professional provider, provides the patient with preventive care information that matches his/her age, sex, and health status. Utilizes available health education resources. Reinforces the plan with patient to improve general health status. Accurately documents selected patient history observations and procedures. Adheres to KFHPW documentation standards. Provides each patient a safe, comfortable, and private environment. Provides a safe environment for each patient and adheres to KFHPW safety standards.
