Job Summary Children's Emergency Services (CES) is a primary entry point for children 0-20 years of age admitted to CS Mott Childrens Hospital, a verified Level One Pediatric Trauma Center and tertiary facility with referrals from across the state. CES nurses partner with board certified pediatric emergency medicine faculty and pediatric residents to provide expert family centered care for over 27,000 children who present each year with injuries and illnesses across the range of acuity from minor to critical care. The department provides CES nurses financial support for ENPC, ACLS, TNCC, PALS and CPEN as well as in-depth orientation and continuing education. Advance Practice Provider - Pediatric ED (PRN)

The Advanced Practice Provider PRN provides medical and/or surgical care and treatment to a specific patient population under the supervision of physician(s). The Advanced Practice Provider PRN provides diagnostic, therapeutic and/or preventive healthcare service, as delegated by a physician. The Advanced Practice Provider PRN may perform any or all of the following: histories and physicals; order and interpret tests; make preliminary diagnosis; treat injuries/illness; assist with surgical procedures; counsel patient and/or prescribe medication and those invasive procedures defined by the Virginia Board of Medicine. The Advanced Practice Provider PRN works collaboratively with the medical team to deliver organized, timely, cost effective and quality patient care. This position may supervise support staff.
