Operate and monitor specialized OR equipment. Operate autoclaves as needed. Monitor patients having surgical procedure under local anesthesia and moderate sedation by assessing cardiopulmonary, and hemodynamic status, level of consciousness and pain levels. Responsible for management of patients undergoing local anesthesia and moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the provider. Collaborate with members of the surgical and multidisciplinary teams in assessing, planning, and implementing surgical intervention in management of patient’s peri-operative health care. Notify Surgeon and/or Anesthesia provider in case of any abnormal diagnostic or physical findings in the patient. Communicate to the patient any ambulation/movement restrictions when applicable. Inform the patient that further education on ambulation/movement restrictions will be performed by Short Stay Surgery staff, or nursing unit RN’s. Functions as team leader and supervises on call team members when called in for emergencies. Monitor supplies and instruments to assure a sterile product is delivered to the sterile field. Correctly labels, handles, and processes all operative specimens. Participate on hospital committees as assigned. Participate in planning and conducting continuing education. Identify, initiate, and participate in nursing studies. Ensure quality patient care despite the situation encountered, be it routine or emergent. Perform scrub duties as necessary. Maintain supplies and monitor outdates. Take OR Call as assigned by immediate supervisor. Responsible for electronic health records data entry pertinent to patient service role. Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield. Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. Overview Ensuring the achievement of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission, the Registered Nurse is accountable for the coordination of care for patients and their families including direct care, patient and family education and discharge planning. When providing care, Registered Nurses follow the process of assessing, nursing diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing and evaluation as the basis for the delivery of care. Qualifications Education RNs hired on or after 7/1/2016: Must graduate from a BSN program within 6 years of hire into an RN position. Existing Staff RNs: RNs hired before 7/1/2016 are not mandated to have a BSN, but are encouraged to pursue a BSN degree. Charge RN - Operating Room

Overview Ensuring the achievement of Northern Arizona Healthcare’s mission, the Charge RN, under the supervision of the Clinical Manager/Director, is responsible for overseeing and directing the patient care activities on the unit during a worked shift. When providing leadership to the department, the Charge RN acts as an advocate for the shift, making sure the Clinical Manager/Director are aware ofthe unique needs of the shift. Responsibilities Patient Care* Addresses patient and family concerns, communicates issues and solutions through appropriate channels. * Documents incidents, events, interventions, and patient/staff/physician responses. * Serves as patient advocate. * Prioritize and problems solves to meet changes in patient status/condition. * Works with other departments to ensure smooth patient throughput processes including discharge planning and patient education as appropriate. * Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals to ensure staffing patterns meet appropriate skill mix necessary for quality patient care. * Serves as a liaison with patients, physicians, Administrative Coordinator, Staffing Office, Transfer Center, Care Coordination department, unit staff, ancillary staff and departments. * Serves as a resource, assists staff in caring for patients; able to assist physician with order entry. Administrative* Staffing for current and next shift, determining appropriate staff levels and mix to provide quality care and maintain unit productivity. * Assign patient care teams, delegate patient care activities to unit and ancillary staff. * Addresses work flow issues, ensures incidents are appropriately documented and corrective steps are taken. * Makes bed or patient assignment based on patient needs and staff resources. * Identifies appropriate referral and educational resources for patients and staff. * Advocates for both patients and staff as needs arise. * Demonstrated knowledge of NAH and department policies and procedures. Works to ensure compliance of best practice amongst each staff member. Coaching and Development* Ensures staff accountability, monitors staff performance, and provides real time constructive feedback whenever possible. * Identifies performance opportunities for improvement and provides resources and education as needed. * Regularly recognizes employees for strong performance and improvements. * Collaborates with clinical manager on employees performance evaluations. * Collaborates and communicates with the clinical manager regarding staff performance. * Provides coaching to nursing staff. * Provides input to nursing leadership regarding employment actions including performance evaluation, promotion, corrective action and termination on a regular basis.
