Summary The Clinical Research RN I (CRN I) facilitate clinical research activity at Moffitt Cancer Center and/or affiliated institutions by leading the coordination of opening new protocols, new patient evaluation, registering eligible patients and coordinating protocol‐related care of patients enrolled in clinical trials. The CRN I is required to have in‐depth knowledge of protocol requirements and good clinical practices as set forth by Federal regulations. As the primary resource for the protocols, the research nurse will coordinate and provide direct patient care, perform ongoing assessments, deliver patient education, and document in accordance with standards and regulatory guidelines pertaining to specified research patients enrolled into Moffitt run clinical trials. The Clinical Research RN I (CRN) will act as liaison between the investigators, primary care providers, Moffitt regulatory staff and the sponsor. Along with the investigator, the CRN I will screen, enroll, and follow study subjects, ensuring protocol compliance and close monitoring while the subjects are on study. In addition, this position is responsible for data and source documentation, adverse experience reporting, maintenance of regulatory files in conjunction with the regulatory specialist, maintenance of subject accruals and protocol tracking. Director of Nursing

The Director of Nursing is responsible for administration of nursing service in the Center. He/she directs, plans, and coordinates service activities of professional Nursing and auxiliary Nursing personnel in rendering customer care. The Director of Nursing interprets Center policies and regulations to all Nursing personnel and ensures compliance, as well as analyzes and evaluates Nursing and related services rendered to improve quality of customer care and to better utilize staff time and abilities. The Director of Nursing also ensures the provision of in-service training programs for nursing personnel. DON Responsibilities Participates in the development and/or the implementation of philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards of Nursing practice in accordance with the goals of the organization Maintains adequate Nursing coverage to provide safe Nursing care for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assure that all customers are treated fairly, with compassion, dignity, and respect Works with the Administrator to develop, allocate and control the budget for the Department of Nursing Services Collects and analyzes clinical data from internal and external sources for Quality Assurance measures.
