As Registered Nurse programs pacemakers and AICD devices independently while having the cardiologist(s) review all programming changes. Maintains and analyzes algorithms; EKG's and other device interrogation data and prepares preliminary reports for the cardiologist(s). Troubleshoots cardiac devices and immediately takes steps to resolve problems, working with physicians as needed. Offers potential solutions as applicable to the patient and device programming. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms, implantation data/automated systems and documentation practices. Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned.
