Primary nursing care for patients undergoing transesophageal echocardiograms and electrical cardioversion. Monitors the patient’s vital signs, end tidal CO2 values, and administers medications for conscious sedation. Recovers patient to baseline. 5. Manages the care of patients postoperatively following cath lab and interventional radiology procedures. Demonstrates competency in pulling vascular sheaths, monitoring vascular access sites, early identification of complications, and communication to the physician to determine treatment and resolution. 6. Provides pre-procedural and discharge education to the patient and family members, maintaining empathy and professionalism at all times. 7. Performs pre-procedural patient phone calls to provide education and obtain patient history and communicate procedural scheduling details. 8. Collaborates with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate optimal patient care and outcomes. 9.
