Overview Shift: Per Diem, 8 Hr - Day Shift Landmark Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem PACU Registered Nurse to provide safe, high-quality post-anesthesia care for surgical patients. The PACU RN reports directly to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and indirectly to the House Supervisor. This role requires at least 1 year of consistent Critical Care or PACU experience, with preference given to candidates with additional experience. Responsibilities Provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate post-operative care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe recovery. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic status and diagnostic results, to the appropriate provider. Guide and support other team members, maintaining professional nursing standards and compliance with hospital policies. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support efficient patient flow and maintain a safe, organized unit. Participate in performance improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and ongoing education. Serve as a clinical resource to peers and new staff. Registered Nurse Benefits: Sick Time 401K Plan with Eligible Employer Contribution Pet Insurance Clinical Ladder Program (only for eligible positions) Shift Differential Pay for Performance Registered Nurse (RN) Job Summary: As the Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for diagnosing responses to actual or potential health problems and for providing basic emergent, supportive, and restorative care through the use of our nursing process. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned responsibility. Additional Pay Incentives Per Diem RN Differential Additional 15% differential on top of base pay Applies to select high-need departments: Emergency Department (ED) ICU/Tele Progressive Intermediate Care (PIP) Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Maternal & Child Health (MCH) This differential is applied before any shift, weekend, or night differentials Additional RN Night Shift Differential (Temporary) Extra $4/hour for RNs working 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. Available in select high-need units: ED ICU/Tele PIP Paid in addition to standard shift and weekend differentials Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities: According to age and developmental level of the patient, systematically assesses the patient's physical, psycho-social, emotional, cultural, spiritual and discharge needs. Utilizes effective oral and written communication skills to include completeness and accuracy of documentation. Demonstrates accurate technical skill and operational knowledge of patient care equipment and procedure. Evaluates the plan of care and reformulates the goals as necessary. Develops and implements a plan of care for each patient. Recognizes unsafe and life-threatening situations and intervenes appropriately. Registered Nurse (RN) Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Connecticut required. Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.
