Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. You will refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs (as applicable) when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors, or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. You will support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. You will manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. You can be a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs. Education & Loan Assistance: • $10,000 Scholar Loan Program (LPN to RN) • $20,000 RN Loan Forgiveness • $16,000 RN to BSN Assistance Position Details: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Medical 7W Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128 Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week Shift: Day Shift | 7:00AM-7:00PM Sign-On Bonus: Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000 New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000 About the Unit — Medical 7W Medical 7W cares for adult patients with common diagnoses including cellulitis, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, gastrointestinal issues, COPD exacerbations, and medically stable COVID patients. This unit helps build strong skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, acute medical care, and fast-paced patient management. Overview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations. Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit. Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire. Preferred Qualifications Education: BSN preferred Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties Why Mercy?
