The Lead Nurse is responsible for overseeing nursing operations within the Cardiac ICU and ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care. The Lead Nurse partners closely with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, strengthen operational efficiency, and uphold compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based best practices. The Johns Hopkins Hospital Cardiac Care Unit is a 12-bed intensive care unit specializing in the care of patients with complex and acute cardiac conditions. The unit cares for patients experiencing acute myocardial infarction and related complications such as cardiogenic shock, post-infarction angina, and congestive heart failure. In addition, the team manages critically ill patients with severe cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease, and life-threatening arrhythmias. Qualifications: Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required at time of hire BLS CPR required 2 year recent high acuity ICU experience preferred; proficient in RN 1, 2, and RN 3 competencies. BSN (Required) Salary Range: Minimum 47.96/hour - Maximum 74.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. The Critical Care Response Team is a newly established hospital-wide unit designed to provide rapid, expert clinical support for patients experiencing acute deterioration outside of the intensive care unit. Weekly Working Hours: 40 hours per week Shift: 12-hour rotating days and night shift Summary: The Lead Clinical Nurse for the Critical Care Response Team provides day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for a dedicated hospital-based critical care response nursing model. This role supports the development, implementation, and daily reliability of the Critical Care Response Team through direct clinical response, early identification of patient deterioration, staff support, education, quality review, and operational coordination. The position serves as a clinical expert, mentor, and operational partner to frontline nurses, providers, respiratory therapy, and nursing leadership. The Lead Clinical Nurse helps ensure timely and reliable response to rapid responses, code events, and other clinical emergencies while supporting proactive surveillance, continuous improvement, and a culture of safety for patients and care teams. Salary Range: Minimum 47.96/hour - Maximum 74.34/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
