Job Duties: Assists the Residential Manager with ensuring that the residential facility operates in compliance with HHSC ALF Licensure, CARF and other regulatory/accreditation organizations, including assisting with creating procedures to ensure adherence. Manages medical documentation ensuring completeness, timeliness and accuracy. Conducts weekly MAR audits, verification of medication administration records and input of orders into EHR. Addresses patient direct care and PRN medical issues to assure continued patient medical stability. Communicates with On Call and/or physicians/office nurse, as needed. Ensures communication of pertinent information including specific concerns regarding patient safety or health to the treatment team in a timely manner. Ensure residential communication books are up to date. Responsible for emergency drills, including tracking, requesting, ensuring completion and issuing feedback. Responds to emergency situations and completes required documentation Assists the Residential Manager with the oversight of clinical and regulatory compliance orientation, training, supervision, and ongoing education and competency assessments of residential direct care staff across the delivery sites and in the community. Encourages patient/family participation in care. Reviews personalized patient plan of care with patient/family every shift. Updates white boards accordingly and sets daily goals with patient input. Explains special diets, tests, procedures and medications in easily understood and appropriate language. Makes hourly rounds on patients and communicates when they will return. Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records. Performs other duties as assigned.
