The RN will communicate and can dialogue with the referring and accepting physicians in order to comprehend and plan for the needs of this complex transfer. He/She has the clinical knowledge and skill to suggest and drive the admission process. The System Access Center RN will provide guidance, leadership, and clinical expertise for the System Access Center Coordinator (ASCC). The ASCC has the responsibility for coordinating all calls for Premier Health including all paging requests, consults, direct admits, and transfers from internal and external customers. The Access Coordinator will enter the on-call schedule for the various providers into the approved schedule data base as well as maintain it for any incremental changes. The Clinical Nurse will manage and guide the Access Center Coordinators. The Clinical Nurse also has the responsibility to oversee the process for all “alerts” across the system. These include: Stroke, AMI, hip fracture and sepsis alerts.
