Charge Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Overview: We are a 13-bed unit with 4 overflow antepartum rooms, 2 OR suites and a new 4 bed OB-ED. We have 24/7 coverage by a Hospitalist, along with a great group of physicians. Any laboring mom or preterm mom greater than 20 weeks may be seen on this unit; along with postpartum moms needing to be readmitted. Our goal is to adhere to the AWHONN standards. We closely monitor staffing to patient census which means-1:2 laboring patients, 1:1 active labor or C-section, 1:3 antepartum patients and 1:4 triage/OB-ED. We provide patient centered care as the entire health care team work together to care for mother and baby. Overview: Piedmont Rockdale is a 161-bed, acute care, not-for-profit community hospital in Conyers that has provided compassionate, patient-centered care to Rockdale County and surrounding communities since 1954. The Admit Recovery Unit is a supportive, collaborative team that provides superior patient care, in a highly skilled, fast paced environment. Follows established quality control practices to ensure accuracy, consistency and safety. Collaboration and Communication Works closely with leadership teams to coordinate and improve service delivery. Stays up-to-date with industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or Four (4) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree required Master's Degree preferred 2-4 years of experience in closely related field with Bachelor's degree required 2-4 years of previous leadership experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
