Nursing and medical support staff in the NICU work with the Neonatology team to care for premature babies and assist in pediatric surgeries, providing care to newborn infants with cardiovascular and/or respiratory disease and infants requiring treatments for various diagnoses including infection and surgery. Responsibilities The Nursing Process Assessment - Demonstrates the nursing skills to complete a holistic assessment of the patient’s physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and education needs utilizing The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. ACLS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for Progressive Registered Nurses in Intensive Care Units. PALS from the American Heart Association is required within six (6) months of hire or transfer for the following departments: PICU (660401) and Trauma Center (713100). Fellowship RN's must obtain their ACLS, PALS and NRP within six (6) months of hire or transfer if required by the department. Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days, and then annually, is required for Psych Unit. Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Professional certification preferred. Required Experience: Less than one year of related experience. Preferred Experience: One (1) year of clinical experience.
