Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Associates in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience required. BSN is preferred. For the OR position, 2+ years of recent OR experience is required. RN certification preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. PALS and ACLS required within one year of hire. CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. WORKING CONDITIONS Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures. Exposure to communicable diseases and moderately adverse working conditions due to the need to perform certain patient care activities can be expected. Our facilities include a teen room, a spacious playroom for younger patients, and a family waiting room. Our Pediatric unit and PIMU have 38-bed capacity. The Pediatric unit is in Kellemen building on South 7th and offers 26 beds. Experience Required 2 years minimum RN pediatrics acute care experience is required.
