The Optum Serve Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides clinically competent delivery of quality virtual medical care services required during Optum Serve operations. The PA or NP is responsible for providing clinically competent medical care services, within their scope of practice. The PA or NP working remotely on behalf of Optum Serve is responsible for safe patient care and ensuring adherence to all Optum Serve Policies and Procedures. All PA or NP shall meet the qualifications for their specialty and perform essentially the same functions, within the scope of acceptable standards for their technical professional discipline, as those required by DoD or government service technical professionals of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. This position works in collaboration with other providers as well as other team members of the healthcare team to complete Virtual health assessments in non-traditional healthcare settings. This provider is responsible for virtual patient triage, assessments, and referrals of all presenting patients to Optum Serve Telehealth. Seeking to hire PAs or NPs who reside or hold licensure in the following states with ability to obtain multiple state licenses per regional assignment: KS, OR, AR, AK, IA, ME, KY, CT, NH, WV, DE, MT, ID, SD, NM, RI, ND, VT, WY, WY, NE The schedule for this position is Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7 am - 5 pm CST. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: This role is entirely remote and requires working in a non-traditional clinical setting. It is also (virtually) customer-facing with high expectations for operational excellence. The noise level is moderate and there is no risk of exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens. Hours may vary based on location, patient volume, and business needs. Required Qualifications: Master's Degree from an accredited university in a Physician Assistant Program or Master's Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner program Valid and unrestricted professional PA or NP license in the state which you reside Ability to apply for 10+ additional assigned state licensures within 2 weeks of hire date Collaborative physician agreement if applicable based on state scope of practice regulations 1+ years as a PA or NP in a clinical environment including oversight of ancillary and clinical staff and caring for adults Experience conducting assessments on wide variety of acute/chronic conditions Proven experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) platforms to document, review, and manage patient information Proven excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills Ability to work one or more of the listed schedule requirements including one weekend rotation per month Preferred Qualifications: Multiple licensures preferably in one or more of the following states with ability to obtain multiple state licenses per regional assignment: KS, OR, AR, AK, IA, ME, KY, CT, NH, WV, DE, MT, ID, SD, NM, RI, ND, VT, WY, WY, NE 2+ years clinical experience in a health care delivery system VA and/or military experience Experience working in a Virtual setting Experience working in a call center environment, handling a high volume of calls and performing repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and productivity standards Proven leadership experience including the ability to supervise, coach and develop staff using excellent interpersonal and communication skills Familiarity with government forms and documentation Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and database experience Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven excellent social and therapeutic communications skills *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $113,000 - $173,500. Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
