The clinical manager aligns the mission, vision, and values of the Hospital System with unit activities. The clinical manager, as a change agent, is accountable for implementation of strategies that result in positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Ensures collaborative communication with the Director of Surgical Services, CV Surgeon(s), Vascular Surgeon, Cardiac Anesthesiologist(s), and perfusion services. Responsible for the daily operation of the Cardiovascular Operating Room ensuring that policies, practices, procedures, and standards are followed. Participates in JCAHO survey preparation. Responsible for Development and Implementation of Policies and Procedures that are specific to the CVOR. Responsible for timely completion of annual performance appraisals for all CVOR staff. Guides, directs, and counsels staff regarding performance, problem solving and decision making. Prepares the budget for the unit on an annual basis. Submits a monthly expense budget variance report. Plans and oversees staff schedules to meet patient care needs. Follows unit and departmental staffing and scheduling standards. Adjusts own schedule in order to complete workload in view of increased patient activity, staffing requirements or special unit activities.
