Description The program focuses on recruiting and training the very best candidates and prepares the new recruits for the high demands of busy practices, and deploying a highly prepared group of staff into the FPA practices. This position will require consistent rotation in various Faculty Practices; flexibility is a must. You will be responsible for the following: Responsibilities Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room, assisting patients as needed with walking, transferring, dressing, collecting and processing specimens and point of care testing, preparing for exam, etc. Assists physicians with various procedures, takes vital signs, relays instructions to patients and or families; answers calls and provides pertinent information Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: sending and receiving patient medical records; obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Completing forms and requisitions as needed, managing charts to ensure information is completed and filed appropriately. These responsibilities may be carried out using the electronic medical record (EMR) system or manually as necessary Enters orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepares prescription refill requests on behalf of the physician for the review and approval by the ordering physician Inventories, orders or re-stocks medical supplies as applicable Provides set-up of examination room and instruments in accordance with proper sterilization techniques established by hospital and infection control policies Maintains logging system as required for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, sterilization process, crash cart, point of care testing or others as needed Checks expiration dates on all medications and medical supplies disposing appropriately as per institution policy Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complies with legal regulations Complies with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infections body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation and other hazardous substances Assists in the maintenance of medical charts (filing, Op Reports, test results, home care forms) May schedule surgeries/procedures or work in conjunction with Surgical Coordinator verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions and consent forms as necessary May be required to perform proficient phlebotomy duties May perform appointment scheduling and registration for patients as well as updating patient demographic and insurance information May maintain, adjust and confirm patient office schedule May check and verify & update insurance information utilizing internal or web sources May perform and verify pre-certification for procedures as necessary Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED with completion of Training Certificate from an approved Medical Assistant certificate course. Job Description Summary A Home care aide is an individual authorized to provide nonmedical services and assistance to an elderly or disabled client. Care Is usually provided at the person’s home, or facility. Nurse Next Door affiliated home care aides shall be selected on the basis of such factors as a sympathetic attitude towards the care of the sick, ability to carry out directions, maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job. All affiliated Home care aides employed by Nurse Next Door to provide in-home care services will be 18 years old (or if under 18 years of age be a high school graduate or enrolled in a vocational education program) and have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with clients and other agency staff. Home care aides must meet all registration, criminal background checks and training requirements as specified by the State of California Department of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau and Nurse Next Door policies. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities Responsibilities of the home care aide include, but are not limited to, the following- · Execute the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer. · Help clients with their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) that are within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide. · Assisting clients with personal hygiene such as skin, mouth, hair care, bathing and dressing. · Assisting clients in and out of bed, transfers, positioning and assisting with ambulation. · Assisting with prescribed exercises which clients and aides have been taught by appropriate health personnel. · Meal planning and preparation, including therapeutic diets, and assisting clients with eating. · Assisting clients to the bathroom or in using commodes, bedpans or urinals and incontinence care. · Performing household services including housekeeping, laundry, transportation, correspondence, making telephone calls, shopping for personal care items or groceries, and companionship. · Assisting clients with medications reminders which are ordinarily self-administered. · Reporting changes in the client's condition and needs to the administrator or care designer. · Completing records regarding services performed. · Driving to appointments or to run errands. · Accurately records all hours worked. · Remains alert throughout the shift in case client requires assistance, responds immediately to any such needs by providing the assistance required, or calling the Company for guidance. · Participating in all required entry-level and annual training requirements. · Maintaining an active home care aide registration with the State of Ca. Dept. of Social Services Home Care Services Bureau. · Other duties as assigned by the administrator or designee. Position Qualifications · At least 18 years of age. · Current registration with the State of California Home Care Aide Registry. We Provide paid training and help you with the registration process. · Completion of a criminal background check and disclosure of any criminal history or evidence of exemption. · Evidence of entry-level training or plan to complete paid training prior to client care and in accordance with CA regulations. · Evidence of tuberculosis testing and verification that the home care aide does not have active tuberculosis. · Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given. · Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision. · Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired. · Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene. · Valid driver’s license and auto insurance and/or reliable transportation required. Physical Demands · Regularly required to sit, use hands or fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. · Required to reach with hands and arms. · Required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. · Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and or move from 25 up to 50 pounds. · Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Schedule: Part time/ Full time/ Weekend/ flexible shift available COVID-19 considerations: Masked can be worn if the caregiver feels safer doing so and will not be sent to any client's home that has COVID-19 until they are better.
