Major Responsibilities

Supervises staff and oversees patient care in accordance with standards of care and practice and applicable state/federal regulations.
Follows established facility policies and procedures while providing and coordinating resident care with other facility personnel.
Supervises Certified Nursing Assistants during shift including assigning and distributing work, performance management, training new staff, and ensuring work is being performed according to facility standards.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must possess a current, unencumbered, active state license to practice as an RN
Experience in Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation facilities preferred.
You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.

Makes daily environmental rounds - identifying and correcting problems. Submits an "RNS Checklist " to ADNS for each unit every month. Makes a daily clinical rounds seeing every resident on report and every resident on precautions. Schedules comprehensive rounds with charge nurse to see and evaluate nursing care on every resident on a regular basis. Oversees that grooming and personal care needs are met on all residents. Reviews, with charge nurses, all required documentation, nursing care plans and transcription of medical orders. Evaluates every new admission and assures nursing care needs are met. Evaluates every resident experiencing an accident/incident and reviews documentation of same. Evaluates every resident experiencing a change of status in health (including transfers to hospital) and reviews documentation of same.
