Take on a meaningful nursing assignment making an impact in a school community near Independence, MO. We are looking for two compassionate and adaptable RNs or LPNs for contract 1:1 roles in a specialized classroom environment. This assignment starts ASAP and runs through the end of the school year (May 22), with the opportunity to continue for Extended School Year (June 1-25, Mondays through Thursdays).
What You’ll Do:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 care to students with complex medical needs in a special education classroom setting. • Role 1: Support a 4th-grade female student using a G-tube (no trach), wheelchair, and managing a seizure disorder; includes bus ride to school. • Role 2: Care for a preschool student with a trach in a special needs classroom; join the student on their bus ride to school.
- Support other students in the classroom and assist the classroom team as needed.
- If your assigned student is absent, float as a clinic nurse in other buildings (K-12) or accompany students/staff on field trips as needed.
- Perform thorough electronic charting and documentation.
- Collaborate actively with educators and families to ensure continuity of care.
Who We’re Looking For:
- MO-licensed RN or LPN (clear record on Nursys).
- Experienced in pediatric care with a preference for recent work in ICU, ER, or school nursing.
- Tech-savvy and comfortable with computer-based charting.
- Comfortable working with students PreK–12 and able to adapt to schedule changes.
- Not accepting new grads at this time.
This is a rewarding full-time role: 35–40 hours/week during the regular school year (8:15–4:45 schedule) and 25 hours/week in June (8:45–2:45).
