Ensures the surgical program creates high patient satisfaction, maintains/increases surgical utilization, meets surgeon needs, and provides experienced, knowledgeable staff. Assumes 24-hour accountability for the management and delivery of daily patient/client care in respective departments. Promotes patient-focused care by demonstrating sensitivity to individual patient and family needs and communicating clearly with surgeons and anesthesiologists. Serves as a clinical and administrative resource for the nurse managers, charge nurses, clinical coordinators, or scheduler, and perioperative staff. Informs the clinical services leadership of significant/unusual issues, incidents, or trends. Promotes positive physician/staff relationships through example, one-on-one discussions, and general interactions. Collaborates with medical staff to evaluate and facilitate improvements in Perioperative Services. Oversees and participates in the development of policies and procedures based on AORN, ASPAN, AAMI, and AGIA standards, consistent with regulatory requirements. Ensures staff competency and maintains current documentation of personnel related to professional practice for performance evaluations. Addresses negative/counterproductive behavior constructively and implements action plans to improve behavior, consulting with chief surgeons as needed. Reviews nursing assignments regularly to ensure they align with qualifications and patient care requirements. Investigates and follows up on complaints and problems, ensuring accurate recording of time for Perioperative Service payroll. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must possess supervisory skills, written/verbal, communication skills, spreadsheet, word document, computer competent, CNOR, negotiation skills, people skills, organization skill and public speaking [Required]
Education:
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Required]
• Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
• In nursing
Work Experience:
• 2+ leadership experience [Required]
• 2+ circulating/scrub nursing experience [Required]
• 5+ experience [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
• Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
