Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to support a medically fragile student in a school-based contract role located conveniently near Brockton, MA. In this role, youll play a crucial part in the students daily routine, escorting and caring for them during bus transportation between Medford and Chestnut Hill. Key Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Experience in school nursing, pediatrics, or working with medically fragile children is highly valued
  • Strong clinical assessment skills
  • Comfort with equipment such as oxygen tanks, oxygen saturation/heart rate monitors, suction machines, and emergency seizure medication
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining clear documentation

Core Responsibilities:

  • Safely accompany and monitor a non-verbal, wheelchair-dependent student on school transportation
  • Assess and manage airway, seizure activity, and comfort during transport
  • Utilize monitoring equipment and emergency supplies as needed
  • Document all assessments and interventions promptly
  • Communicate effectively with classroom nurses, parents, and school supervisors

Role Details:

  • Contract position: 4 days/week (TuesdayFriday), 7:30 am4:00 pm
  • Summer ESY: July 12 through August 6; School Year: August 31 through June 21
  • Caseload: 1:1 with one student; ages and schools not specified
