Duties of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Specializes in Infection Control & Wounds

  • Develop and periodically update the nursing service objectives and statement of philosophy

  • Develop standards of nursing practice

  • Develop and maintain nursing policy and procedures

  • Develop and maintain written job descriptions for each level of nursing personnel

  • Schedule daily rounds to visit residents

  • Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services

  • Recruiting and retaining the number of levels of nursing personnel necessary to meet the nursing care needs of each resident

  • Develop staff training programs

  • Participate in the planning and budgeting for nursing services

  • Ensuring that all health service notes are informative and descriptive of the supervision and care rendered including the resident's response to his or her care

  • Assess the nursing requirements for each resident admitted and assist the Medical Director in planning for the resident's care

  • Participating in the development and implementation of the resident assessment (MDS) and comprehensive care plan

Requirement for Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) - Specializing in Infection Control & Wounds :

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Must have experience in a long-term care facility or other related healthcare facilities

  • Minimum of 2 years of Nurse Management experience
