American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring a CA RN license and previous Cath Lab experience with call coverage responsibilities. Job details: - Work in the Cath Lab unit of a hospital environment - 13-week contract assignment - Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM - Weekday and weekend call coverage required, generally 6-7 shifts within a 4-week period Requirements: - Active CA RN license currently in hand - Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Certifications must be issued by AHA or ARC - Previous Cath Lab experience required - Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required - Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration - Valid Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required for consideration Additional information: - Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate - Local candidates are accepted at the local rate - Returning staff or travelers must have a separation period of at least 1 year before returning - Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted per contract - Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract - Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day - Holiday periods begin at 7:00 PM the night before and end at 7:00 AM the day after the holiday - Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing - 7-year work history verification required for all candidates - Any background or licensure hits must be disclosed and approved by facility HR prior to proceeding

Essential Job Responsibilities: The RN provides care to patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. The Hospice RN regularly reviews and updates the plan of care. Performs prescribed medical treatments, including pain management and symptom control, conducts assessments and evaluations, provides education and supportive care to patient and family. Completes an initial, comprehensive, and ongoing assessments of patient and family to determine hospice needs. Provides a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illness(es). Provides professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of nursing process. Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: Writing and initiating plan of care, regularly re-evaluating patient and family/caregiver needs, participating in revising the plan of care as necessary.
