CUPP 5 South is an Orthopedic/Surgical floor that is rapidly growing and is a viable part of PPMC. The floor is the receiving site for post-operative surgical patients, including General, Orthopedic, Abdominal & Bariatric, Total Joint Replacement, Spinal, Neurosurgery, Trauma, GYN, Oral, Vascular, Urological, Podiatry, Colorectal, ENT, and trauma and neuro overflow.

Summary:

  • The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague possesses the knowledge, skills and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Clinical Nurse 2 position description addendum. The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains. The Clinical Nurse 2 Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Accountabilities : • 1. Where appropriate, adheres to quality monitoring or procedures for validation of equipment functionality. • ¨ Safely administers medications and treatments as ordered according to hospital policy and formulary using the appropriate principles of safe medication administration, 2 patient identifiers, and giving consideration to age-specific effects related to medication. • ¨ Safely handles various types of drugs and body fluids using knowledge of standard precautions. • 4.
