Pay Range $21.85 - $32.80 Job Description Major Responsibilities: Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care. Cross trained to perform duties that are relevant to specialty or clinic practice within the scope of the Medical Assistant. Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation. Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Current BLS certification at time of hire or within 30 days of hire 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Valid driver's license within the state of work and access to reliable transportation Ability to travel locally about 25% of the time to various clinics as assigned Preferred Qualifications Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or equivalent) Experience working in a clinical or ambulatory care setting Familiarity with electronic medical record systems Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet business and patient care needs.
