POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of your job position is to provide each resident with routine daily nursing care in accordance with the residents assessment plan, with current federal, state and local standards and regulations that govern the facility, and as directed by your supervisors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Answering call lights Ensure that all nursing care is provided in privacy Making residents comfortable (putting them in bed, bringing them water, etc.) Assisting in feeding residents (by cutting their food and spoon feeding if needed) Helping residents with their daily grooming, shower or sponge bath Proper lifting and transitioning residents from wheelchair to bed, bed to chair, etc. Helping residents, sit, stand and walk Transporting residents to dining area (for meals and activities) and returning them to their room Timely reporting of change in residents condition to the Nurse Supervisor Protecting each residents file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords Following Infection and Control policies Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately Other duties as assigned Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. Hospital Details Vibra Hospital of Northern California, located in Redding, CA, is a 50 bed Critical Care Hospital and a 32 bed SNF providing long-term acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. Responsibilities Provides assistance to licensed nursing personnel in the provision of patient care by providing and documenting activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and grooming, and providing a clean, healthy and safe environment. Utilizes basic infection control procedures, basic nutrition and fluid intake skills. Recognizes emergency situations and responds. Required Skills: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Aide or other relevant experience in lieu of education will be considered. Current, valid, and active certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant as applicable in the state of employment required. BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor is required within six months of date of hire. Additional Qualifications/Skills : Acute care/LTAC experience preferred. Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills. Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. Overview JOB SUMMARY The Certified Nursing Assistant/ Nursing Assistant functions as an assistant to the Registered Nurse. Under the supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse, a CNA/ Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing services to ensure the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Satisfactory completion of Certified Nursing Assistant Training Course preferred. Experience: Relevant experience assisting with activities of daily living such as providing basic nursing personal care services such as patient hygiene, grooming while assisting the nursing staff preferred. Knowledge and Skills: Able to work in a fast-paced environment, and manage/prioritized/complete work assignments and other duties as assigned. Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. License and Certifications: A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required.
