Elmwood Hills Heathcare in Blackwood, NJ is looking for an RN Nurse Educator to join our team! MUST BE A Registered Nurse in state of NJ BSN required. MSN preferred. 2 years LTC/nursing home experience REQUIRED. Education experience preferred. Basic Function: Provides clinical education and evaluation to Nursing and Patient Care staff. Facilitates evidence-based education to ensure adherence to all regulatory agencies in the clinical area. Duties and Responsibilities: Role models and supports excellence in clinical practice and promotes a culture of safe, high-quality care. Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel. Works closely with nursing staff/care team to develop an environment that promotes staff growth, role competency, and proficiency in nursing skills and critical thinking, always ensuring patient and staff safety. Implements specialized and non-routine nursing care for patients in various clinical settings to support individual plan of care. Acts as a resource providing training on patient care procedures, equipment, new protocols, and learning/education initiatives. Ensures that patient care staff are meeting evidence-based practice standards and institutional policies and strategies. Promotes the use of scientific principles and critical thinking skills in the delivery of nursing care. Meets and maintains clinical competencies measured by pre-determined credentialing standards, mandatory safety education, and completion of Basic Life Support. Provides clinical education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff. Incorporates evidence-based education and practice to ensure quality patient care. Develops a plan to assist caregivers with education needs, problem resolution, and patient care management. Initiates clinical skills development programs and implements education strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards and parameters. Educates nursing and patient care staff in the use and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Assess education needs and develop verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to both groups and individuals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. Readily adapts to change and welcomes new approaches when circumstances demand. About Us - Cardiac Cath The Cardiac Cath Lab (CCL) is designated by the state of Missouri as a level I STEMI center. The CCL provides specialized diagnostic and interventional services for both inpatient and outpatient adults. The CCL is committed to staying at the cutting edge of heart disease diagnosis and treatment by utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and equipment in our lab. Procedures that are included but not limited to: cardiac and peripheral diagnostics and revascularizations, electrophysiology studies, structural heart procedures, and vascular embolization. The normal hours of operation for the CCL are Monday through Friday 6:30am to 7:00pm with extended hours until 9:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On call critical care/emergency services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call is a requirement for this department with a required 20-minute staff response time. The call-team members consist of a Cardiologist, RN circulators, cath lab technologists, or Special Procedure Technologists. Schedule: Part Time (20hrs/week) What You’ll Do Utilizing knowledge, education, experience, and competence, the RN-Clinical Educator will function in an expanded clinical role within cardiac cath services and in collaboration with leadership to enhance the overall education experience for staff, new hires, apprentices, and outside entities that use FHS services for a clinical rotation site. In addition, will assist department leaders in assessing the ongoing educational needs of the department. Will assist in improving and maintaining a quality preceptorship and mentoring program. Will promote overall coordination, cohesiveness, and quality of cardiac cath education. Requirements Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Current Missouri Registered Nurse license or current Registered Nurse license from a compact state. If a compact license is held, it must be in the nurse’s state of residence. Minimum 3 years' experience in clinical nursing. Responsibilities The Surgical and Procedural Services Nurse Educator will play a critical role in facilitating the professional development of Community Health System's (CHS) surgical and/or perioperative nursing staff and ancillary staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety within our surgical services department.
