Duties Description About HPC: HPC is a comprehensive, community-based mental health facility serving individuals from the Central New York region. HPC is committed to supporting underserved individuals, organizations, and communities along with activities and initiatives to reduce disparities in access, quality, and treatment for underserved populations. The successful candidate will provide nursing services appropriate to children (ages 5-20) served by the program. Services may include, but are not limited to: Nursing interventions and their documentation Pediatric Screenings Health teaching/counseling Facilitating admissions and discharges Screening youth for the ability to self-administer medications prior to admission Review medications with youth upon admission Training and education to MHTA staff on medication policies and procedures Weekly nursing groups Chart audits In addition, you may provide supervision and education to subordinate professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in the performance of their patient/resident care duties and be responsible for maintaining inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs, and narcotics. Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric if they have a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State. OR Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Additional Comments: Posted hiring rate includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 18 of $66,951, an Increase Hiring Rate of $9,196, and Geographic Pay Differential of $20,000. The posted job rate is the sum of the statutory job rate of $85,138, and Geographic Pay Differential of $20,000. Additional compensation may apply based on shift assignment. 7% shift differential for evening shift. 10% shift differential for night shift. Notes: If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.
