We also work with our Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program to care for adult patients when they need additional surgery. Duties include consults in conjugation with the surgeons, intraoperative first and second assist, post-operative surgical rounding, and post operative outpatient appointments. Scope of Practice of the NP/PA: Evaluates and treats patients with acute, chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns related to specialty, according to written standardized procedures. The Admissions Nurse is a Staff RN who is responsible for assuring that the admission process is carried out properly. The RN utilizes the nursing process and adheres to established standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policy, goals and objectives in executing this responsibility. This position also assures that admissions are managed in a timely and courteous manner. Conducts and documents the Direct and Comprehensive assessments required for patients to determine dispositions. Participate in screening patients for admission into hospital programs, utilizing pre-approved admissions criteria. Reviews referrals and determines appropriateness for patient admission criteria with assistance of policy and procedures. Schedule: NOC Shift Tuesday-Friday / 10 PM - 6:30 AM Qualifications Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital’s designated physical and behavioral management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, required prior to assisting in the procedures. Incumbent may be required to work overtime or flexible hours.
