On assigned residents and within the assigned time frame will: Complete, sign and date the MDS, RAP modules and additional assessments. Will review and update care plans; notify chairperson if changes need to be made per established policies and procedures; and attend Interdisciplinary Care Plans when requested. Will always maintain professional standards of nursing care. Follows all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the facility and nursing department. Attend mandatory and non-mandatory in-services, meetings, Care Plans and MDS as required. Will ensure economic utilization of supplies and proper charging of items to residents’ accounts. Ensure equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner. Will maintain valid CPR certification and perform as needed. Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Change bed linens, diapers and clothing as often as necessary. • Do not permit residents to smoke in bed. • Assure that the nurse’s call system is attached to the bed and within easy reach at all times when residents are bedfast. • Answer residents’ call lights promptly. • Check for food in residents’ room. Shampoo hair on shower days. • Clip and trim fingernails. • Shave male residents daily or as needed. • Keep hair under arms and face on female residents clean-shaven as necessary or instructed. Trim hair in nose and ears as needed. • Observe and report the presence of reddened areas on bony prominences. • Keep drainage bag off the floor when resident is in bed or in wheelchair. • Apply Vaseline or A & D ointment to dry skin in accordance with established policies. • Move and turn bedfast residents at least every two hours and record such information on CNA notes. • Observe disoriented and comatose residents and notify Charge Nurse immediately. • Apply postural support properly. Check with Charge Nurse for type of restraint to be used. • Apply hand roll or splint to residents with contractures as outlined within the facility’s established policies and procedures. • Follow infection control procedures in accordance with established facility policy when isolation techniques are necessary. • Chart required information every shift. • Complete Intake and Output documentation on all residents with orders before the end of each shift. • Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator. POSITION SUMMARY This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedure. Participants in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. Assists with OR turnover between cases. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms. 6. Participates in or leads the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. 7. May provide business support to the department including administrative tasks. 8. This position follows safety procedures in regards to medication labeling, appropriate handling of specimens, appropriate handling of sharps, time-out procedure, radiation and laser safety, infection control, assembling and disassembling instruments. Participates in emergency call rotation. Is proficient to scrub on at least two surgical specialties. Internal customers are patients, surgeons, and nursing staff. External customers may include practicing physicians, patient families and vendors or sales reps. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification. Certified as a surgical technologist OR two to three years of experience in a surgical technologist role. Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency. This position must be able to scrub proficiently on a minimum of two surgical specialties. The position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain professional decorum in highly stressful emergent situations. Collaborates with, through a matrix relationship, managers in non-nursing areas as needed to facilitate optimal patient care. Supervises nursing personnel within areas of assignment for the Division of Nursing, maintaining standards of nursing practice and patient care management within the Hospital. Under the guidance and direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this professional will focus on leading, collaborating, integrating, facilitating and evaluating in order to support systems necessary for professional nursing practice. Collaborate with other leaders to facilitate decisions that impact service outcomes across clinical settings. This professional will collaborate with other professionals to maintain patient care standards that align with Piedmont Healthcare's mission, vision and values. Qualifications: Education Bachelors Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing Required Masters degree in Nursing Preferred Work Experience 7 years progressively responsible nursing management positions within a hospital or health system Required Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required Specialty certification Preferred Participation in professional organizations and involvement in civic/ community agencies.
