Position Overview: The ADNS assists in managing the department of nursing and assumes responsibility delegated by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS). Key Responsibilities: Assist in interviewing applicants and recommend hiring of staff and scheduling. Participate in orientation and in-service education training. Participate in performance reviews and personnel files; enforce the personnel policies of the community, including disciplining and terminating care team members. Under the direction of the DNS, complete chart audits and report results and progress, and makes recommendations for improvement to the DNS. Ensure proper infection control techniques are utilized. Maintain effective communication with families, residents and community staff. Qualifications: Current RN license by State Board of Nursing in state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing. Experience in the long-term care or working with the geriatric population preferred. Must have at least three years nursing experience and one year supervisory experience.
