Job Summary JOB DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and guided by the policies and procedures of Ambulatory Services, the Licensed Vocational Nurse works in collaboration with the clinical team in delivering high-quality care to patients in the Allergy, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases Clinics. The type of patients treated in the clinic include patients who are receiving allergy immunotherapy services. The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in the ambulatory setting. All components of nursing care will be individualized to meet the patient’s physiological and psychosocial developmental level and needs. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required by patient need. Works collaboratively with RN as a nursing resource for staff and provides nursing supervision that is within the scope of practice in the absence of the RN. The LVN triages patient phone calls and messages, directing assessment need calls to RN or MD. AI also cares for patients with: immune deficiencies, frequent infections, and inflammatory diseases of other types.
