Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Assist with onboarding, orientation, and ongoing development of new nursing team members. Support performance improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives. Facilitate effective communication during shift handoffs, interdisciplinary rounds, and emergency situations. Monitor compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards. Participate in quality assurance activities and departmental projects as assigned. Maintain accountability for direct patient care while functioning in a leadership capacity. Qualifications Required Education Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. Preferred Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required Experience Minimum of two (2) years of recent acute care nursing experience. Previous critical care nursing experience required. Preferred Experience Prior charge nurse, preceptor, leadership, or supervisory experience in a critical care setting. Responds to, or may direct response to, telephone inquiries regarding laboratory specimens. Investigates and resolves laboratory questions with minimum guidance. Responsible for facilitating the smooth flow of patients through the clinic through interaction with patients, families, and staff. Assist in clinic with physical examination of patient and related treatments, including but not limited to patient history, medication records, allergies, and immunizations. Administers routine oral, rectal, or injectable medications not requiring a high level of skill or nursing judgment. These are medications that can only be administered by certified medical assistants or medical assistants who have completed a formal accredited training program. Other duties as assigned.
