The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license, and at least one year of nursing experience in an acute care setting. The Rehab/Neuro unit is a 32-bed unit and the unit cares for neurosurgery, neuro-oncology and in-patient rehab patients. The patient population is mostly adults ages 18 and older. Our unit focuses on acute care patients and Neuro Progressive Care patients who require more hands on monitoring the first 24 hours post-surgery. Quality and patient outcomes are at the heart of our practice, and the team actively participates in Evidence Based Practice, unit and hospital-based committees, and local and national conferences.The acute care rehabilitation service helps to safely transition patients to a community setting. Rehabilitation services include bowel and bladder retraining, dysphagia management, tracheostomy and ostomy management, wound care and medication management .
