Total cash compensation includes earnings from per visit point pay and hourly pay and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role. This role receives two types of compensation depending on the work being performed. When conducting visits, you will be paid per visit point rate compensation. Your per visit pay will be calculated by multiplying your per visit point rate by the productivity points you accrue for various types of visits. Each type of visit is assigned a certain number of productivity points that is inclusive of 'direct' and 'indirect' patient care activities. Visits are assigned based on patient and business needs. The number of visits performed each week will vary based on individual productivity targets and the productivity points assigned to the visits performed. You will be paid your hourly rate for certain non-visit activities such as orientation. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include: Providing medication reminders Assisting with approved blood glucose monitoring Documenting readings when required Observing food and fluid intake Monitoring the client’s physical, emotional and behavioral condition Reporting pain, swelling, bruising, redness or skin concerns Reporting falls, injuries or changes in mobility Reporting confusion or unusual behavior Following established emergency procedures Contacting the Helping Hearts office immediately when concerns arise Completing accurate electronic documentation Caregivers must report concerns rather than independently diagnose or treat them. Caregivers must not assume that someone else has already reported a change in condition. Medication Reminders Medication support is limited to the responsibilities authorized in the client’s approved non-medical care plan. Caregivers may: Provide scheduled reminders. Assist with an approved prefilled medication planner. Place approved medications in a cup when directed. Remind the client to self-administer their medication. Document reminders and client responses. Report refusals, missed doses or other concerns. Caregivers must not independently administer medication, change medication instructions or provide medical advice outside their authorized scope. Transportation When required and authorized, caregivers may: Transport clients to appointments. Assist with approved errands. Transport clients to social activities. Help clients enter and exit the vehicle. Secure mobility equipment appropriately. Follow all client-specific transportation instructions. Maintain a clean, safe and insured vehicle. Report any transportation concern immediately. Caregivers may only transport clients when the assignment has been approved and all transportation requirements have been satisfied. Night and Overnight Shift Expectations Caregivers working night or overnight assignments must remain fully awake, alert and attentive throughout the entire shift. Clock in and out from the approved client location. Remain with the client until the scheduled end of the shift. Remain until properly relieved when continuous care is required. Notify the office if a client or family asks them to arrive late, leave early or change the scheduled hours. Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift. Failure to report for an accepted shift, leaving a client without authorization or failing to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the assignment or additional corrective action.
