Registered Nurse ICU The ICU Registered Nurse performs initial assessment and documents appropriately for the level of care appropriate to the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age development level, and cultural and religious orientation. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Is able to calculate and titrate vasoactive drugs used in the ICU in response to changing patient condition. Is also able to care for patients receiving mechanical ventilation, i.e. assessment of effective ventilation, suctioning techniques, etc. Has the ability to interpret cardiac arrhythmias and intervene appropriately, including alerting physician to significant changes. Qualifications Essential Job Duties : Identifies and prioritizes the need for further assessment based on the patient’s clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, desire for care and responses to any previous care. Initiates discharge planning for each patient upon admission as appropriate. Is able to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results. Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac monitoring and identifies dysrhythmias and treats appropriately. The ER RN must be able to accurately assign triage categories using Emergency Severity Index. Is able to assist emergency room physician with diagnosis and interventional procedures, i.e., central lines, closed reductions, advanced airway management. Is competent to monitor the patient undergoing procedural sedation. Is competent to perform ACLS and PALS algorithms and protocols. Registered Nurse (RN) Mobile Resource Float Pool - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - Multiple Locations

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: Nights (United States of America) Full-time Nights: 7pm - 7am Job Summary: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The RN MRP-System position is required to float to Intensive Care Units at all 4 hospitals; work every other weekend; provide holiday coverage as defined in assigned rotating MRP Holiday Package. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing. BSN preferred or required within five (5) years of hire date. Current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in the same Service Line/Specialty will not be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Effective July 1, 2022, current RN Teammates transferring to another RN position in a different Service Line/Specialty will be required to complete BSN within five (5) years of transfer date. Experience: 1 year of recent inpatient nursing experience. 2 years ICU RN experience strongly preferred. Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Primary Source Verification: Yes. http://www.llr.state.sc.us/ or compact RN state licensing board. Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of the professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records and writing reports. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, hospital, medical staff and the public. Ability to analyze situations and apply critical thinking. Ability to communicate clearly. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
