Conducts intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history. Plans and provides nursing care for patients. Makes nursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommends treatment options. Consults with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients. Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications. Arranges further medical attention when necessary. Assists the client in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment. Keep accurate written charts and records of patient activities and progress.Comply with laws, rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures. Use professional judgment to ascertain and to apply appropriate intervention techniques with patients in crisis Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients. Test for vital signs of pain and ensures treatments of pain. Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physician’s written orders. Maintains patient confidentiality. Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations and laboratory results according to standard medical record keeping. Performs administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system. Performs related duties, as requested. 26006105 Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical ICU – Part-time, 7P Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are better + together Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: Part-time, 24 hours weekly, 2-12 hours shifts, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Department Highlights 22 bed Medical Intensive Care Unit, Nurse: Patient ratio 1:2 MSOF patients, ECMO, CRRT, Vent-patients and all forms of life support RN average length of service 11 years Level I Trauma Center MAGNET facility The department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team High acuity, high volume department Here’s What You Need Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly ACLS – within 90 days of hire required – expiration date greater than 3 months preferred CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required Current ICU and/or PCU experience preferred In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism have basic computer skills using medical management application systems What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process assesses the patient plans the care of the patient intervenes as appropriate evaluates the effectiveness of interventions Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
