Position Description Responsible for supporting and carrying out the administration and management of Nursing Services to residents in accordance with orders of the physicians and total needs of the residents. In partnership with the Director of Nursing, is responsible for the 24-hour supervision of Nursing Services and directs the Nursing Department to maintain quality standards of care in accordance with current Federal, State and The Company standards, guidelines and regulations. In absence of the Director of Nursing, assumes the responsibility for clinical operations. Participates in daily and weekly management team meetings to discuss resident status, census changes, personnel, or resident complaints or concerns. Ensures delivery of compassionate quality care and nursing supervision as evidence by adequate services and staff coverage, absence of odors, general cleanliness, prevention of pressure wounds, and apparent maintenance of optimal resident functions. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Perioperative Services, and the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist is responsible for filling the surgical scrub role on all types of minor and major surgical procedures dependent on individual competencies in each surgical specialty. Perform all tasks with a hyper focus on patient experience, including processing of patient phone messages, including returning calls; routing calls to other team members as appropriate; calling patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician. Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and other first aid procedures; use CPR skills, when necessary, all under physician supervision. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and conduct accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times. Provide health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices; follows up with coached patients via weekly calls. Ability to travel on occasion for company meetings. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required. Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.) required. A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant. 6+months' phlebotomy experience is highly desired. BLS for Healthcare Providers required. EClinical Works or similar EMR experience. Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
