The General Internal Medicine unit is a 16-bed one-pod intermediate care medical oncology unit providing care to adult and geriatric patients ranging in age from 18 -95. Patients treated on P4A include those with solid tumor cancers, such as colorectal, gastrointestinal, and lung cancer who are on a spectrum of cancer care from pre-diagnosis to end of life. Patients are provided treatment for side effects and complications of their cancer care, as well as supportive care. The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. They impact quality of patient care, patient outcomes and use of resources in a designated area in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, an RN license and at least twelve months of recent RN experience in medical/surgical or an acute care setting. The candidate must be available to work the Day/Evening shift, from 7am - 7pm, with rotating weekends and holidays required. P10 Surgical/Oncology is a specialized inpatient unit providing care for surgical oncology patients, including those undergoing complex cancer-related procedures.
