Conducts and documents hearing, vision, respiratory and ECG testing. Performs and documents specific screening based on condition/need including depression and asthma. Obtains, documents and processes specimens using the appropriate collection process and equipment. Performs and documents point of care testing accurately. Performs venipuncture procedures (as needed) and processes specimens as outlined in policies and procedures. Administers medications and immunizations including oral, nasal, injectable, rectal and topical routes as appropriate. Processes medication prescription refills per guidelines using telephonic, electronic or print methods. Handles prior authorization processes for medications and/or procedures and documents appropriately. Manages clinical supplies and medication sample areas to ensure that stock is current, stored appropriately, labeled and par levels maintained. Education/Experience/Licensure Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or Certification as an EMT or Combat Medic required. Experience: One (1) to three (3) years medical assistant experience preferred. Certification/Licensure: Medical Assistant Certification required. Software/Hardware: Computer/EMR experience preferred. You'll provide direct nursing care, coordinate with residents, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team, and help guide assigned nursing personnel. Responsibilities will be performed consistent with your individual licensure and scope of practice. The overlapping RN and LPN responsibilities include medication administration, treatments, resident monitoring, physician communication, care planning, and supervision of assigned nursing staff. What You'll Do Provide direct nursing care within your licensure and scope of practice. Monitor and assess resident status and communicate significant changes. Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions. Perform treatments, wound care, and other permitted nursing procedures. Carry out and document physician orders. Participate in admissions, transfers, discharges, rounds, and care planning. Direct or supervise assigned nursing personnel as appropriate to licensure. Collaborate with residents, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary team. Support infection control, quality improvement, survey readiness, and regulatory compliance. Promote teamwork, communication, resident dignity, and quality care. What We're Looking For Graduate of an accredited nursing program appropriate to licensure. Current, unrestricted RN or LPN license in the practicing state. Current CPR certification. Strong clinical judgment and communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize resident-care needs. Prior long-term care experience preferred.
