$5,000.00 Bonus Available * JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtains and records initial assessment and establishes priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs. Reassesses patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention. Implements and documents timely interventions appropriate to patient needs and recognizes and responds to emergencies. Makes comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcome. Participates in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning. Coordinates team assignments and makes adjustments based upon patient and unit needs; follows up on delegated patient care tasks for quality and completeness. Utilizes appropriate chain of command for resolution of difficult issues. Participates in orientation of new staff. Maintains a neat, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff. Participates in the unit’s continuous quality improvement plan to improve organizational performance. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Critical Care Unit: ACLS or ALS certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Must successfully complete dysrhythmia recognition test at initial department orientation. Emergency Department: Must complete ACLS or ALS certification during orientation. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course or PALS must be completed within one year of hire. Maternity Center: ACLS or ALS Certification required. NPR certification is required within 3 months of hire.
