Nurse Intern - Polk County Region - Pool/PRN

Summary The Nurse Intern (NI) is a member of the health care team who performs PCT/PST skills and skills acquired in the first semester of nursing school. Skills are performed in the patient care setting under the direction and supervision of an RN include urinary catheter, IV reseal DC and sterile technique. Must have completed first semester or level one in RN Nursing Program which includes clinicals. NI skills must also be validated on hire or must complete the skills designated in the PCT Course. NI portfolio must be completed within 90 days of hire. Required Certification: Basic Life Support from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Minimum Qualifications: A current student in an approved RN program with completion of Nursing Fundamentals which includes a round of clinicals at a nursing home (at a minimum). Requirements RN (Registered Nurse) License Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing 1 year registered nurse ER experience BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association ACLS certification with the American Heart Association PALS certification with the American Heart Association The Registered Nurse – Responsibilities And Skills Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patients, family and significant others Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
