Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Wellness Visit Medical Assistant (WVMA), under the supervision of a licensed practitioner, supports the first phase of a two-part Medicare Annual Wellness Visit (AWV). Following successful onsite training and competency validation, the position transitions to a primarily remote role conducting the initial visit via telehealth. The WVMA reviews preventive care needs and quality care gaps using approved protocols, obtain and documented patient-reported medications and medical histories, documents findings in the electronic health record (EHR), and prepares patients for the second portion of the visit, which is completed in person by a Nurse Practitioner.
