Summary of Essential Duties: As a Registered Nurse, you will establish a plan of care, set goals, determine priorities, and provide care within established standards of practice. Provides and accurately documents direct and indirect patient care services that ensures the safety, comfort, personal hygiene, and protection of patients in a timely manner. Provides care and patient education on disease prevention and restorative measures. Administration of medications and therapeutic agents necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, or rehabilitative plan of care. Performs skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and the initiation of peripheral venous access. Observes signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to medications/treatments, general behavior, and/or general physical condition. Demonstrates refined assessment skills, integrating appropriate data sources to assess the signs, symptoms, reactions, behaviors, or general appearance to determine normal versus abnormal characteristics. Plans and implements individualized patient care based on observations. Implements appropriate reporting, referrals and care in accordance with standardized procedures. Initiates emergency procedures when indicated. Provides care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Identifies patient’s readiness for learning and ability to understand directions/instructions and give consent. Demonstrates knowledge and is able to identify and make special adjustments as required to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition needs. Per Diem staff must consistently meet the following work requirements: A minimum of 2 days per pay period is required. Be available to work the number of hours or shifts agreed upon with the Executive Director / Associate Director / Supervisor. When agreed upon shifts are self-canceled, the work commitment must be met by working another day(s) in the pay period. Work a minimum of three (3) weekend shifts per 6 week schedule (exception: Ambulatory / Outpatient Clinics). Per Diem staff working 144 or more hours per time schedule will work a minimum of four (4) weekend shifts per schedule. If Per Diem staff fails to meet their weekend commitment, a letter of 'self-termination' by failing to meet the time commitment will be sent. Be available to work two (2) of the six national holidays one must include Christmas or New Year's. The holiday commitments will include the holiday eves as the day. Be available to rotate shifts as needed. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or higher preferred. Job Overview The RN Nursing Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day ‘back office’ operations of the clinic by overseeing the employees providing nursing care to the clinic patients, as well as implementing and assuring quality medical management and cost containment health services to patients. The Supervisor oversees the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation/improvement of clinical care services/programs, which include patient experience, patient safety, HEDIS quality measures, financial goals, etc. The Supervisor also implements, maintains, and evaluates clinical and patient care practice standards. The Supervisor works with the Site Medical Director, Clinic Director, Administrative Leadership team, and RN Manager to achieve clinic quality, patient satisfaction, and financial goals, and ensure all staff are up to date with clinic objectives, such as quality boards, present progress on clinic objectives at staff meetings, etc. The Supervisor provides leadership to the nursing team and support as a mentor to Staff and oversees patient care services, including the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation/improvement of clinical care services/programs, which includes patient experience, patient safety, HEDIS quality measures, financial goals, etc. The Supervisor also implements, maintains, and evaluates clinical and patient care practice standards, budgets, and staff development. The Supervisor manages operations and services that add value and are integrated with nursing standards of practice, service priorities. Lastly, the Supervisor is responsible for performance and outcome measures, as well as strategic, business, and organizational goals/objectives. Minimum Requirements A bachelor’s degree in nursing, coupled with a minimum of 1 year of leadership experience, is required. Master’s degree in health services, business administration, or management preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience providing patient care in an outpatient/inpatient setting, with preferred experience in staff supervision A current, valid license as a registered nurse through the California Board of Registered Nursing is required. Experience with audits and health care inspections, preferred. Prior experience with an Electronic Health/Medical (EHR/EMR) system is preferred. A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
