Overview • Department: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) • Schedule: Full-Time, Days • Facility: Prime Healthcare Olympia Fields Hospital • Location: Olympia Fields, IL Responsibilities The Manager of ICU is a Registered Nurse who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of all critical care nursing service functions. Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations. Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time responsibilities for the unit and is directly accountable to the CNO/DON. Position Summary The Staff Nurse I provides direct patient care and takes the initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence Based Practice, Relationship Based Care, and standards of nursing excellence into clinical practice. Engages and obtains information from patient and/or family to develop an appropriate patient educational plan. Recognizes symptoms, establishes priorities, and responds to patient’s changing needs. Engages support personnel by delegating appropriate tasks per the Illinois State Nurse Practice Act and provides support and feedback.
