The Registered Nurse delivers culturally sensitive, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with ANA standards, the New Jersey Practice Act, Joint Commission requirements, and CentraState’s policies and procedures. Utilizing the Nursing Process, the RN provides patient-centered care and evaluates outcomes through nurse-sensitive indicators. Orientation includes successful completion of an IV course and CPR certification. Care is delivered through a multidisciplinary, patient-focused model that supports collaboration and clinical excellence. Responsibilities Provides considerate respectful care focused upon the patient's individual needs to ensure patient satisfaction. Affirms the patient's right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care, including the decision to discontinue treatment, to the extent permitted by law. Successfully completes life-span education as appropriate. Obtains a complete nursing history and baseline assessment that is systematic, consistent and continuous. This assessment is communicated effectively utilizing Hand-off policy and documented. Standards of Care/Practice for the specific patient type. Fulfills the requirements for competencies and completion of annual mandatories surrounding indwelling urinary catheters. Supports operations by demonstrating ability and willingness to float between units as an RN and provides 1:1 patient observation when deemed necessary Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing required Bachelor's degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire. Graduate of CSMC Residency program, or Minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience required Related experience preferred. Current NJ RN license required. CPR Certification required. ACLS certification to be achieved within first year then maintained thereafter. Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia course to be achieved with first year. CSMC IV Certification to be achieved within first year. Stroke Education requirements to be achieved within first year then maintained thereafter.
