Maintains patient records effectively. 1.10. Efficiently manages and routinely checks the EPIC in-basket. 1.11. Answers and returns calls promptly and provides pertinent information. 2. Performs administrative responsibilities as assigned. 2.1. Sends/receives patient medical records and abstracts new patient records into EPIC. 2.2. Obtains lab/radiology reports, hospital notes, and referral information as requested. 2.3. Completes forms/requisitions as needed. 2.4. Cross-trained on front desk duties, including but not limited to greeting patients/visitors, answering calls, scheduling appointments, and maintaining/scanning patient medical records. 3. Performs environmental responsibilities as assigned. 3.1. Sets up instruments and equipment according to department protocol. 3.2. Applies principles of infection control. 3.3. Cleans exam/procedures rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control following established department policy. 3.4. Cleans the sterilizer (when applicable) according to the scheduled maintenance program and maintains appropriate documentation. 3.5. Orders, sorts, and stores supplies following established department policy. 4. Performs other related organizational duties as assigned. 4.1. Maintains patient autonomy, confidentiality, and dignity. 4.2. Ensures providers submit timely and accurate billing. 4.3. Maintains knowledge of practice policy, HIPAA, current coding, OSHA regulations and CLIA regulations (where applicable). 4.4. Provides prompt attention to urgent and non-urgent patient issues as evidenced by observation and feedback from staff. 4.5. Quickly shares problems related to patients and/or staff with the supervisor. 4.6. Work with the Care Coordinator for Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives. 4.7. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings. 4.8. Collaborate in the development and delivery of programs and activities for individuals, families and population groups that promote health and prevent disease. 4.9. Collaborates in the development of and contributes to individual team and department quality improvement and evaluation activities. 4.10. Advocate on behalf of vulnerable individuals and populations. 4.11. GENERAL STATEMENT The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the clinical experiences for student Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) candidates. This individual will provide on-site supervision for all pre-nursing students during their clinical rotations, collaborate with classroom instructors and clinical sites to schedule student clinical hours, and meet regularly with Therapeutic Pathway - PreNursing classroom teachers to review student progress and provide in-class supports as needed. Description The Medical Assistant II provides clinical office support to physicians and surgeons and performs patient care and administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care. Focus of tasks include basic rooming of patient, EKGs, Point of Care Testing, EPIC documentation. In addition to general experience, the MA II should have at least 2+ years experience in a specialized area such as phlebotomy, pulmonary testing, surgery or cardiology. Overview Job Details APP – PA/NP We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Vascular Surgery team . This position will focus exclusively on inpatient/floor-based vascular surgery care, working collaboratively with vascular surgeons and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide high-quality care to hospitalized vascular patients. The APP will be responsible for the evaluation and management of vascular surgery patients throughout their inpatient stay, including admissions, daily floor management, pre-operative and post-operative care, discharge planning, and coordination of care. Position Focus This is an inpatient/floor-based APP position. The role does not include routine OR or surgical-assistance responsibilities. The APP will primarily focus on vascular surgery admissions, inpatient consults, daily floor management, pre-operative and post-operative care, clinical assessment, discharge planning, and coordination of care in collaboration with the vascular surgery team. Responsibilities 1. Inpatient Patient Evaluation & Management Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations on vascular surgery patients. Evaluate new inpatient vascular surgery consultations and assist with developing appropriate treatment plans. Perform daily patient assessments and manage the ongoing care of vascular surgery patients on the floor. Monitor patients for changes in clinical status and promptly identify potential complications. Order, review, and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the vascular surgery team. Communicate significant clinical changes and concerns to the vascular surgeon and appropriate members of the care team. 2. Pre-Operative & Post-Operative Management Provide comprehensive pre-operative evaluation and management of vascular surgery patients. Coordinate appropriate pre-operative testing and medical optimization. Provide daily post-operative management of vascular surgery patients. Monitor surgical wounds, drains, vascular status, laboratory results, and overall recovery. Recognize and appropriately manage post-operative complications in collaboration with the vascular surgeon. Manage pain, medications, fluids, and other aspects of routine inpatient care within the scope of practice. Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, recovery, and discharge needs. 3. Inpatient/Floor Responsibilities Perform daily rounds with the vascular surgery team. Write daily progress notes, admission notes, consult notes, discharge summaries, and other required clinical documentation. Place appropriate orders and manage routine inpatient needs. Coordinate consultations with other medical and surgical specialties as needed. Communicate with nursing, case management, physical therapy, social work, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Participate in discharge planning and ensure appropriate follow-up and continuity of care. Respond to clinical issues and patient needs on the vascular surgery floor. 4. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with vascular surgeons to provide coordinated inpatient care. Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate. Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, clinical progress, and discharge instructions. Escalate complex or urgent clinical concerns to the supervising/collaborating vascular surgeon. 5. Documentation & Quality Maintain accurate and timely medical records. Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and documentation standards. Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and activities related to vascular surgery patient care. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program. Current New York State licensure as a PA or NP. PA-C certification through NCCPA or appropriate NP certification. Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification preferred for NP candidates. Previous experience in vascular surgery, surgery, critical care, or inpatient medicine is highly desirable. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary inpatient team. Experience PA/NP: Experienced providers preferred; will consider a new graduate with relevant clinical rotations, electives, or inpatient/surgical experience.
