Position Summary UNC Health Cancer Care - Cary is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our multidisciplinary Hematology & Oncology team. This position offers the opportunity to practice in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, working closely with medical oncologists, hematologists, nurse care managers, infusion services, and other oncology support staff. The APP will function as a key member of the oncology care team, providing comprehensive outpatient care for hematology and oncology patients within a team-based care model. The ideal candidate will bring prior clinical experience as an APP and an interest in building long-term relationships with oncology and hematology patients within a supportive community cancer center. Responsibilities Evaluate and manage outpatient hematology and oncology patients in a clinic setting. Conduct follow-up visits and ongoing disease management for patients receiving cancer treatment. Perform pre-infusion evaluations to assess patient readiness for chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology treatments. Manage patients with benign hematology conditions, including simple anemia and iron deficiency anemia. Review laboratory results, imaging, treatment plans, and clinical status to support continuity of care. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse care managers, infusion staff, and other members of the oncology team.
