Directs nursing support staff in the provision of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice, administrative and departmental policies and procedures. Professional education, training or additional certifications may be required by specialty area. The Medical Assistant provides basic patient care and performs job specific tasks under the direct supervision of a physician or other licensed medical provider according to established policies and procedures. Performs activities necessary to provide for the personal needs, comfort and safety of patients and their families. Responsibilities include clinical, environmental, and administrative duties in designated areas.
